A totally random and irrelevant image. My friend Jean once held a beer over her head. I don't remember why.
This website is an experiment. For the first few posts, months, years, however long it takes, it’s a journey.
The past few weeks I’ve been feeling, artistically, under the weather. However like all sparks and inspirations, everything can change in a second.
The inspiration came from looking at photos of a photographer that shot only what she wanted to shoot. This wasn’t a person who was shooting anything to grab something on film. The subjects were chosen, the objective was clear. This person had a style. They had taste. They knew exactly what they were trying to shoot, trying to capture, trying to attain.
I’ve realized that 99% of the photographs I’ve been shooting – outside of my own iPhone photos I throw onto Instagram – aren’t for myself. It was someone paying me to shoot their vision, their photographs, their creations.
I was just a monkey pushing a button.
Like all companies lost in a sea of stale competition who have lost their way, I’m going to go through a restructuring of my own. My muse is out of the artistic Bermuda Triangle. After she’s warmed up, I need to get her back into shape and have her swabbing the deck.
